Open Position
RCDD / Low Voltage Systems Designer
Full-time · Kansas City, MO · On-site / project-site hybrid
What you will do
- Design structured cabling, low voltage, security, AV and data center infrastructure for commercial and industrial projects.
- Coordinate with general contractors, engineers, owners and our in-house electrical teams during design-build and plan-spec phases.
- Create detailed riser diagrams, floor plans, cable schedules and rack elevation drawings.
- Perform site surveys, as-built documentation and quality assurance reviews.
- Support estimating with material takeoffs, labor plans and value-engineering options.
Requirements
- Current BICSI RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) certification — required.
- Experience designing low voltage systems for commercial, industrial, healthcare, mission critical or municipal projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam or equivalent design and collaboration tools.
- Strong understanding of NEC, NFPA 70, BICSI standards and industry best practices.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead design meetings and site coordination.
Preferred
- BICSI RTPM, DCDC, OSP or NTS certifications.
- NICET certification in fire alarm or related disciplines.
- Experience with BIM coordination and clash detection.
- Familiarity with Kansas City-area markets and regional AHJs.
